How to prepare sweet potatoes? That is, of course, the key question and also the most pleasant thing about this vegetable…. the ways to prepare it are innumerable. Whether I refuse at least to add them up 😉

It is really looking for something where a sweet potato doesn’t fit at all. Who knows it, may tell me at the bottom of this page. 😉
Cook sweet potatoes
The cooking time of a sweet potato is almost identical to that of a normal potato. Maybe a little bit shorter. Cleaning (read: thoroughly rinse thoroughly) is, of course, the same thing. Peeling is allowed but certainly not necessary. The skin is very nutritious – provided that it is organic, of course – and very nutritious.
Most sweet potatoes in the shop are similar in size to the regular potato. Even though you will sometimes see a few examples of the size of a mango, depending on the season and harvest period. If you just want to eat cooked sweet potatoes, it is best to cut them into similar pieces. The cooking time is then 8-10 minutes on average, depending on whether you want to cook it or cook it thoroughly. Depending on the size of the machine, it takes 30-40 minutes to cook the entire cooking process.
Mash sweet potatoes
An absolute must-see…. sweet mashed potatoes or stomp! Also just cook them and then mash with a little bit of plant-based (soya) milk or a little cooking liquid, season with pepper, salt and nutmeg and voila! Use to lick your fingers.
Do you want more than puree? Then make a stamp with 1 or more extra vegetables. For example, kale and spinach match perfectly with the sweet potato, but you can actually use almost any vegetable. So let yourself go with the combination leeks, celeriac’s, broccoli, cauliflower, etc. under your jumper and experiment with various dried and fresh herbs (parsley, cumin, a pinch of cinnamon, coriander, etc.).

Popping sweet potatoes
For puffed sweet potato, heat the oven to 200°C, clean the skin well and prick with a fork hole in the sweet potato. Put them in an oven dish, spread them with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Leave them in the oven (or until cooked) +/- 3 hours for about three quarters of an hour.
For the barbecue, you do the same thing, but with aluminum foil around it and cooking time of +/- 30 minutes.
You can then fill the puffed sweet potatoes with what you like! Think of tomato salad, vegan (room) cheese,….”use your illusion” would say Axl Rose.
Frying sweet potato
A real hit when you serve it! Please note: the sweet potato and the regular potato may then resemble each other…. you can’t just fry them. If you do that, you will be sure to get a lot of weak, fat and unpleasant rods.
At least 1 trick is to get the (raw) sweet potato fries in advance by a mixture of chickpeas flour, salt, pepper, pepper, paprika (or whatever herbs you like).
Make sure the chips are covered with the flour everywhere and then fry them in the deep fryer at 170°C for 5 minutes.
Also in the oven, there is no problem and you don’t need any flour (and is healthier than frying).
To do so, rinse the chips first under cold running water and then drizzle them thoroughly dry. Place them on a baking tray and preheat the oven to 180°C. Sprinkle the chips with pepper, salt, other herbs and spices to taste (tip: rosemary, thyme, paprika, etc.) and pour some olive oil over them. Bake them in 40 minutes. In the meantime, however, regularly turn them around.
Voila, just a few basic preparations you can start experimenting with!
